With a scholarship pegging me to a localized career till a least my early thirties, a student exchange programme presents itself a unique chance to experience overseas living while I am still in the prime of my years. In fact, the developed network of partner universities which NUS had established over the years was a main draw for me to join NUS. Studying overseas will allow me to experience independent living amidst a setting of a completely foreign culture. With limited opportunities to venture beyond Singapore since young, a student exchange will serve as the perfect path for me to broaden my horizons. A different studying methodology, alien cultural practices - and perhaps even imposing climatic conditions will be several things I can experience abroad. As a fervent follower of European soccer, it is nothing short of a dream to immerse oneself into a soccer-crazy society."
